The New York Times best-selling book series, “Wake Up, Live the Life You Love,” which has published 19 best-sellers out of its last 22 books, announces its newest title, “Wake Up Moments of Inspiration.”
The "Wake Up" book series focuses on sharing true stories about real people who have had a “Wake Up Moment” that changed their lives.
Local Ft. Worth resident Anita Stone, an Aerobics Instructor and Certified Sports Nutrition Consultant, is one of “Inspiration’s” co-authors, along with 40 others from all walks of life, including the legendary Brian Tracy and Dr. Wayne Dyer.
“I am excited to be selected to share my Makeover Story in this inspirational new book,” says Stone, who, at 34 years old, was obese and in danger of several obesity-related diseases, such as Type 2 Diabetes.“I was depressed and discouraged after trying diet after diet after diet.I finally found the answer at my local fitness center.”
As an overweight child, she suffered common symptoms of low self-esteem and lack of self-confidence.Years of Weight Watchers meetings and fad diets had only resulted in roller coaster weight losses.Anita’s first “Wake Up Moment” happened when she met a diabetes patient in the hospital whose foot had been partially removed.“I didn’t know that Diabetes was such a serious disease,” she shares in her book, “and I knew I didn’t ever want to be in danger of having to live with the complications of Diabetes.”
Anita immediately “drew the line in the sand” and started exercising regularly. She went from nearly 200 pounds down to 130 pounds, and has kept the weight off for 12 years.“My aerobics instructor, DeAnn Field, saved my life,” she says.DeAnn encouraged Anita to learn to be a fitness instructor as well.
"I wasn’t athletic and had never played any type of sport.I didn’t think I was qualified, but I passed the test and actually started teaching aerobics in October of 1997.I had just turned 35 years old.I would have never predicted it at that time, but being an aerobics instructor has been the joy of my life.I love going to work and helping my gym members lose weight and get fit.Besides saving my own life, I now help save others' lives, which makes me very happy.”
Anita teaches health and fitness classes online with audios, videos, and podcasts. Her audio series, Journey to Fitness, premiered in 2007 and her exercise and cooking videos had over 100,000 online views in 2008.Anita will be presenting her new live event, “Weight Loss Top 10 – The Top 10 Absolutely Essential Strategies for Excellent Health and Weight Loss Success,” a two-hour, info-packed training seminar at local Dallas/Ft. Worth area businesses in 2009.
“I am very excited about sharing how local businesses and corporations can improve their bottom line by incorporating Employee Wellness training into their business model.Employees who are healthier have less absenteeism, and are much more productive. All of my business clients will receive Weekly Wellness Tips to share with their employees for the entire year.I want their employees to start the journey toward better health and fitness in 2009.My live event will encourage them to adapt to a healthier lifestyle,” she said in a January interview.
A recent report from the Wellness Council of America agrees that Employee Wellness Programs work:“Companies are always looking for ways to reduce employee-related expenses and many corporations and organizations are using health promotion programs as a reactionary effort to curtail ever-increasing, employee-related expenses of healthcare and lost productivity. Dozens of published scientific research articles have evaluated the cost-benefit of worksite health promotion programs and the majority show a clear and positive return-on-investment.”
